For the kaya toast, they use super soft egg bread that's perfect for dipping in the soft boiled eggs. I wish I could've tried other food here but have to budget room in my tummy for other meals. ”

“ Worthy spot for traditional Singaporean breakfast in what is a pretty touristy area of the city, especially if you want to get away from the chain places. They do other dishes as well but we didn't try them as we were there for breakfast. Decor is spot-on for an affordable Singaporean place, and service is a combination of at-your-table as well as a buzzer they give you to go pick up your toast when it's ready. I am sure there are better spots for kaya toast and eggs and coffee/tea, but this is walking distance to many of Singapore's better hotels and that alone is reason enough to come here, especially after you get in on an early flight or before you depart on your morning flight. ”

“ Traditional k-toast! There are two lines. 1) If you want just the k-toast that comes with two eggs and coffee, go to the one inside and around the counter. In the display cases they have small chicken pot pies, sardines bakes (my friend described them like empanadas) and curry potato bakes. It'll run you about $5.50 SGD. 2) If you want the k-toast plate with noodles and grilled meat, you'll get in the line that usually wraps outside of the building and into the sidewalk. ”

“ In Singapore it's a must to get Kaya toast as a classic Singapore breakfast. I had Kaya toast a day before at another establishment and loved it, and I wanted to get it again before I left. YY was not too far from where I was staying. It is a very busy spot. They are efficient where there are two lines. One line for Kaya toast and coffee only and another for other foods + Kaya toast. My boyfriend ordered some noodles to try. When the food came out the eggs were still in its shell, which was not how it was presented at the place I tried before. I guess this is the classic way of eating the Kaya toast with eggs! They were hot so be careful cracking them open. The toast itself was good but I think I would've liked a more thin toast vs. a large loaf. The coffee and eggs balanced the toast, which was why I love this Singapore breakfast. ”

“ Local spot, local breakfast. After a certain time you can get local lunch there and i hear its good. This place opens at 8am and the line can get long. Bring cash and know what you want before you get to cash register. If your going to eat there save your table first then get in line or have someone in your party to save your table. I like this place better than toast box. Check it out ”

“ We stumbled across this cafe as we were walking out of our hotel on a rainy day and even with the rain we saw a long line of people outside which grabbed our attention. It's a small shop that moves quickly and there's surprisingly a good amount of space and tables to eat inside. As we had already eaten breakfast, we simply got the breakfast set with kaya toast, eggs, and kopi. The kaya toast come with soft fluffy milk bread buns that are filled with a spread of butter and kaya. Super simple but sooo good for breakfast. The way to eat it is to dip it in runny eggs with soy sauce and let me say it's really a great treat and must try. The kopi here contains sugar and condensed milk as default which is an interesting take on the more western coffee styles and really complements the toast so well. Definitely come here to get a taste of local life! ”
